Before cloud-native architecture became the center of most technical conversations, I worked on software where integration, databases, desktop clients, identity, biometric hardware, reporting, and government-grade operational requirements were the hard problems.
That period included biometric time-and-attendance systems, document-management software, revenue-collection applications, Active Directory integration, SQL Server design, desktop applications, web applications, and operational reporting.
It gave me an engineering foundation that still matters today: understand the data, understand the environment, understand how users actually operate the system, and do not confuse a modern framework with a complete architecture.
Technology: C# · ASP.NET WebForms · WPF · WinForms · XAML · SQL Server · Active Directory · Fingerprint and facial-recognition SDKs · REST APIs · Windows Phone
Modern engineering discussions often start at the framework layer. My earlier work taught me to start lower.
What data is authoritative? What happens when a device is offline? How will an operator recover from a failed workflow? Which identities are trusted? What gets logged? What does the database need to guarantee?
Those questions remain relevant whether the application is a WebForms system from 2014 or a .NET cloud application in 2026.
